Proceed to the Ho Chi Minh Complex, visiting the exterior of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, the house-on-stilts, the fishpond, and the iconic One-Pillar Pagoda. Continue to the Temple of Literature, Vietnam’s first university, before enjoying a one-hour cyclo ride through the narrow streets of the Old Quarter and around Hoan Kiem Lake, also known as "Sword Lake." End the day with leisure time in the Old Quarter. Overnight stay in Hanoi.
Start the day with breakfast at the hotel. Depart on a beautiful drive south of Hanoi to Ninh Binh, the former capital city of ancient Vietnam. Begin the day’s adventure with a boat trip through Tam Coc, where limestone karsts rise dramatically from lush green paddy fields, earning it the nickname "Halong Bay on land." After a local lunch, visit Bich Dong Pagoda, a peaceful and scenic spot. On the way back to Hanoi, stop at Hoa Lu, once the kings’ palace during the 10th century, now famous for the intricately crafted Dinh and Le temples. Return to Hanoi in the late afternoon for an overnight stay.
After breakfast, check out and depart at 9 AM for a three-hour drive east to Halong Bay, passing through the Red River Delta with its lush green fields and charming rural villages. Upon arrival, board your cruise ship to explore the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Halong Bay. Enjoy lunch onboard and visit grottos, take part in swimming or kayaking activities, and pass by floating houses and uniquely shaped islets. Attend a cooking demonstration before dinner on board. The evening is free for leisure activities or simply enjoying the peaceful atmosphere of Halong Bay. Overnight stay on the cruise.
Rise early to witness the magnificent sunrise over the bay’s islets. After a hearty breakfast, continue cruising through Halong Bay, admiring uniquely named formations like Sail Island, Fisherman’s Head Rock, Butterfly Rock, and Turtle Islet. Check out of your cabin and enjoy brunch on board as the cruise returns to the pier. Marvel at the exhibits showcasing photographs, weapons, and historical documents that reflect the hardships and heroism of the Vietnamese people. Overnight stay in Saigon.
After breakfast, drive towards the Cu Chi Tunnels, a 200-kilometer network of underground tunnels operational during the Vietnam War. Watch an introductory video explaining how the tunnels were constructed, then crawl through a short section to experience the narrowness and heat firsthand. Visit areas such as trap doors, storage facilities, weapon factories, field hospitals, command centers, and kitchens. After the visit, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before returning to Saigon. The afternoon is free for leisure activities like shopping or personal sightseeing. Overnight stay in Saigon.
